HOT TAKE: F.R.I.E.N.D.S is one of the most overrated shows ever made.

I’ve genuinely tried to watch it multiple times, and I still don’t understand how people call it the greatest sitcom of all time. Half the jokes aren’t even jokes—it’s just six attractive people saying normal things while a laugh track explodes in the background to convince you something funny happened.

Yes, I get it. It was the ‘90s. People loved it back then, and it was influential. But being influential doesn’t automatically make it funny today.

What’s even crazier is that people still put Friends above shows like The Big Bang Theory, Modern Family, Family Guy, South Park, and The Simpsons. Every single one of those shows has funnier jokes, more memorable moments, and way better comedy writing. Even decades later, they can still make me laugh. Friends barely gets a smile.

And if we’re talking older comedy, movies like The Naked Gun absolutely destroy Friends in terms of humor. The jokes are smarter, more creative, and don’t need a laugh track every 5 seconds to tell the audience when to laugh.

At this point, I honestly think most people say Friends is hilarious because they’re nostalgic for it, not because it’s actually that funny.
