31 users and 2 paid customers in a single day: all from one comparison page I built weeks ago

I’ve been building SheetMergy for 2 months now. Most days nothing happens.

Today I woke up to 31 new users and 2 paid customers. I genuinely don’t know what triggered it.

When I checked the analytics almost all of them came from one specific page — a comparison page targeting people searching for Autocrat alternatives. I built it a few weeks ago because Autocrat has tens of millions of installs and their forums are full of frustrated users actively looking for something better. I just wanted to be in front of those people when they searched.

That’s it. No ads. No launch. No post went viral. Just a comparison page sitting there waiting for the right people to find it.

The strategy was simple: don’t try to find customers from scratch. Find the tool your customers are already frustrated with and show up when they search for alternatives.
