36F | Europe | Gamer, weeb, insomniac seeking low-pressure friendship

The two lines I usually introduce myself with are "perpetually tired" and "struggling adult in denial", which should give you a rough idea of the person behind the keyboard. Gamer and weeb. Frequent insomniac too, stitched together by coffee and tea.

I'm looking for low-pressure friendship with people who enjoy conversations and getting to know each other. Not daily check-ins, not forcing interaction for the sake of it, just the sort of connection where you can disappear for a few days because life gets busy and pick up where you left off without anyone taking it personally.

I'm fairly introverted and not especially good at small talk. And I don't mean having the social skills of a potato, but rather having fluctuating social reserves. Some days I'll be less talkative than others. I'm fine chatting asynchronously, swapping memes and playlists, and just reacting to whatever you might share on the day. Though I tend to do better when there's a topic to pick apart, whether that's books, games, life, work, philosophy, observations about the world, , or whatever else happens to be occupying our brains that day. I'm also happy to discuss more serious or uncomfortable subjects when the conversation naturally goes there. I tend to get on best with people who can handle both the silly stuff and the serious topics. We don't exactly exist in a vacuum.

Gaming is my main hobby these days, though I mostly play solo. I enjoy RPGs, visual novels, MMORPGs and story-driven games. Some all-time favourites include Dragon Age, Mass Effect, Dragon's Dogma, .hack//, Tales, Elden Ring and Baldur's Gate 3. I play some live service games too, so don't judge and ye shall not be judged (or do, who am I to stop you xD). I'm fairly active in WWM and occasionally dip in and out of FFXIV and GW2.

Outside of gaming, I'm into reading, anime, photography, music, collecting gaming and anime merch, and cats (I have two).

Other things of note: atheist, bisexual, career in higher education, currently pursuing a PhD part-time. I'm partnered and child-free, and generally connect best with people who have a similar lifestyle.

I'm fairly straightforward in how I communicate and can occasionally sound blunter than intended. (I swear too, in case that's something that bothers you). When in doubt about anything, just ask me straight.
