Questions when brand new.

Hey yall, just starting out with KB. Got a dominion box set and big grikks kruleshots, and my awesome wife bought me the two commemerative models, the shaman and killaboss. Do I need to make some grot models to go with them since theyre by themselves? Any reccomendations for what to use to make a pot grot and stab grot? Also what should I pick up next to get to 2k, should I go get swamp monsters or just reinforce what I already have?
