I'm having a really hard time finding the heart to end my unequally yoked relationship
I've been committed to a girl for nearly 3 years now, about a year ago she moved into my apartment (I know, I know..) and over the past 6 months or so I've been feeling increasingly burdened by the relationship while also feeling a very strong pull to getting back in the Church. I've fallen away for some time now, and about 6 months ago rediscovered my faith.
I've been feeling this draw back while also battling being dragged back into worldly things, and it's doing nothing but suffocating me because I'm too nice to break her heart.
I've slowly realized while living together how obsessed she is to worldly things like celebrities and from my perspective the wrong end of politics, while also expressing mockery to Christianity, and this has hurt me deeply. I was enthralled with the relationship for the first 2 years but hadn't realized how far apart we are on these core ideals. We were both happy and I think we ignored things that would derail it.
I'm at a point now where I know God is telling me this is not the path I should be on, and knowing it's not my place to try and convert her I need a way out before my chest caves in because I feel unbelievably strained and stuck. My problem is she's wholeheartedly in love and has built her life around me, and she's a student not bringing in enough to support herself with nowhere to go when I ask her to leave. She's going to be devastated and I don't wish to hurt her, I just can't live like this.
I'm trying to go about this as delicately as possible, but it feels crude to kick her out when I know she depends on me financially. I'm sure she will be a great wife to someone else, I just genuinely don't know how to navigate this without destroying her whole world.
