went thru bfs phone, found out he was shit talking me for being trans

for context, i'm a trans guy and my boyfriend is a cis guy. he's sleeping on me right now and i picked up his phone to search my name in his friend's messages to see what he's been saying about me. i know it's wrong. but i found a message of him talking about me and saying "this is why i have a strong dislike for trans people" after i spoke to him at work before we were dating (we were coworkers before we were dating). to give all the context, i was in a terrible mental state at the time, attempting suicide almost weekly, and i had accidentally let slip that i attempted when talking to my future bf. he asked if i needed to talk, and if he could add me on instagram, and i declined.

what should i do? should i confront him about him saying he dislikes trans people?? he'll likely be upset at me for snooping. but i dont even know what to think now.
