12 points totting up impending (England)

Traffic & Parking

I've been stupid. I've recently been given 2 speeding tickets that have put me on 12 points. Though I wasn't intentionally speeding, the fact of the matter is I was which I'm very shameful about. It was on the same stretch of motorway there and back. There were some road works and it had been marked down as 40... I thought it was 50.

I'm hoping to make an exceptional hardship plea. My work is very niche. I'm an agricultural seed expert. I basically spend my life driving round the country advising farmers and merchants on the best varieties to grow to ultimately get the most crop output, (making the UK more sustainable on its own produce rather than import) and most environmentally friendly (natural resilience to cut down on harmful chemicals used to spray)

I will ultimately lose my job (new job 2 months in, on probation, England) if I get a ban. Because my industry is so niche there aren't many others that can do what I do. I cover all of the UK and Ireland. And because i work in agriculture, using public transport is NEARLY impossible, I work in remote and rural places, in the middle of fields. For context, last month I did 3500 miles.

The consequence of losing my licence would mean loss of job which is loss of income. I live alone with no dependents so would ultimately lose my home too.

It's worth noting my nan is disabled and I take her shopping on the weekends. This could be done by other family members so I'm not sure how plausible of an argument that would be. I moved 1hr 30 away (for work) so I'm not round the corner.

To try and change my behaviour I've booked myself onto an advance driving course, had an eye test and now stop after every 2 hours of driving to maintain concentration.

How likely do you think I'll be successful in winning this case?

(I will have a lawyer representing me)
