Someone scoring many many points in very short time

I was promoted to the Tournament and was playing when I had the triple XP. And got that for about 20 minutes. Managed to score 1380 points but meanwhile I see someone scoring 1000 points in about 3-4 minutes and about 300x[p in one minute. Even with a videocall and triple XP you get about 200XP in about 4-5 minutes which I usually need for a videocall. How on earth can someone score that many points on such a short notice?
Are these bots? It's someone having a 599 day streak and over 1 million XP where I have about 300k XP after a streak of 1115 days.
