Here are my suggestions for improving the Nightmare orb system:

**1. Allow players to freely switch orb types**

Players should be able to swap orb types by spending a significant amount of runes and talking to a specific NPC inside the Sisterhood Sanctuary.

* **50k soul runes** for Harmonized
* **50k chaos runes** for Volatile
* **50k nature runes** for Eldritch

Instead of having the Harmonized orb absorb the drop rate of the other two orbs, and moving Eldritch/Volatile orbs to other bosses' drop tables, we should keep their identity as Nightmare-related items.

**2. Buff Volatile Nightmare staff special attack (PvM only)**

* **+20–30% accuracy**
* **+10% max hit**
* **+10% minimum hit**

**Reasoning:**
The Volatile spec is strong in PvP but nearly useless outside of it. Its accuracy is always lower than Tumeken's Shadow, and it lacks enough max hit to justify its 55% special attack cost. It's currently not even worth considering for any mage-only bosses or phases.

Could become a more ZCB-like special option if the player is able to bring complete magic switches

**3. Buff Harmonized Nightmare staff**

Allow the autocast of elemental spells from the standard spellbook while the player is using any other spellbook (Lunar / Ancients / Arceuus).

**Reasoning:**
This would make the Harmonized staff more of a chase item rather than a dead niche item. It would be a blessing for CM speedrunners and valuable for bossing against future NPCs with higher elemental weaknesses.

*Whether this should be allowed in PvP is up for debate* — having Vengeance or Barrages alongside fast, hard-hitting Fire Surges could be too overpowered.
