Me: "We're never hearing from them again." Wife: "Probably not."
Experience leads to understanding leads to accepting.
We met a couple traveling, which happened to be local to us at home.
Same ages, same attractiveness level, same educations, same places in life, the perfect couple.
We played and everything seemed pretty good.
We exchanged information, all good, all happy.
After they left I told my wife, "We're never hearing from them again." and she replied "Probably not".
We just knew how that was going to go, and I couldn't even tell you why, its happened in the past, the "this is a one and done" despite everything seeming good for more. I almost didn't bother to send a message, but I was more curious than anything else, we sent a chat, message read, no reply.
Are we unique in these types of experiences or is this par for the course for some people?
