Venue promoting another event in addition to ours despite taking a cut of sales for promoter

Alright so I wanted to post this here to see if this is super normal or kind of shitty. My Band booked a gig at a venue in town. We also agreed to their in-house promotion terms of 10% of door sales. I went on social media today and saw that the venue was also promoting a big separate event at a different location on the same night as our show.

Legally, there was no exclusivity in our promotional contract so I know there is not anything legally wrong here. But is this normal? It seems like bad business practice to charge for promotion and then promote two shows on the same night one of which even including the owners of the business.

What are your thoughts? This is new to me so I really don't know what to think.
