What should I focus in the era of AI?
For a little bit of context, currently I am a full stack Android developer with roughly 2 years of experience. And I stumbled upon this stack by coincidence. It happened to be the main product of our company(my first job experience).
For now I am doing quite well for someone with my experience. But there’s something that keeps taunting me. What should I really focus in the era of AI? I am asking this because, lately, there has been lay offs in our company and right now we are only half left in our domain. There are so many technologies, and now I’m doubting if I should keep digging deeper into Android stack, or should I try to transition my career to AI engineer instead(I had some experience with ML and CV in college).
The things is, there are so many languages and tech stacks, and I’m confused about what should I really focus on to master that so I have my career guaranteed. Right now, we as developers are in such vulnerable position that I feel the employer companies has to much control on us.
I am actually interested in a lot of stacks like AI, Android even cpp. And I really want to bet on the right path and not lose my time. I want to master a field that it’s worth it. I’m afraid that in a couple of years I have accumulated a lot of experience in Android but then I just lose my job over AI and I have to be worried then.
Do you have any suggestions?
