Best documentary to show my husband?
I went vegan 6 months ago - it started with health reasons (plant-based), and then I watched some documentaries about the meat and dairy industry and immediately went vegan.
My husband is not happy that I will no longer purchase his animal products while I'm at the grocery store. I think he still sees it as a 'diet' and doesn't understand the ethical reasons why I won't participate in this industry any longer.
He also sends me pics of the fish he catches, tells me how good the meat was at functions he attends etc. - he doesn't understand that I don't want to see/hear about it. He has asked me to go with him to the grocery store while he picks out some meat (since I won't buy it for him), and I told him I had no interest in hanging out in the 'morgue' to watch him pick out dead animal parts, which made him really mad (probably not my best choice of words, but it's just what came out at the time).
If I can get him to agree to watch a documentary with me, which one would you suggest? I know he won't watch more than one. I already tried to get him to watch some of the health-related ones and he did (reluctantly), but he was unmoved and said it was all biased.
I'm not trying to make him go vegan (although that would be my preference, no one can make someone else do something), I just want him to understand where I'm coming from, and why I'm opposed to buying his animal products.
I tried re-watching some of them to see which one I thought was best, but they are sooo difficult to watch.
I'm deciding between Earthlings, Land of Hope and Glory, or Gary Yourofsky's speech. I couldn't get through the first 5 minutes of Dominion, so that's a no-go (since I'll be watching it with him).
Which one do you think is best? We are in Canada, if that makes a difference (I know Land of Hope & Glory is UK-based, and Earthlings is US-based).
