New to the game and had a question about fighting, i didnt think the fight phase was so complex i wanted to be a big dumb ork lmao

So i charge a unit in 11e, i kill a unit. Then i consolidate right? So have to move into another unit if possible? The “if possible” is confusing me. Do i still get the 3 inches to consolidate if i cant touch a unit or objective?

Also, if i do end up consolidating into another unit, i dont get to fight that new unit correct that same turn do i?

Under the assumption i dont fight again, on an opponents fight phase, if im base to base and tangled with a unit, the defending player fights first as long as the opponent doesnt have fights first, or does a charge?

Sorry if this is repeated somewhere else, i just didnt know so much extra movement could happen with this and overrun and what not.
