Looking for Transitions to replace sunglasses, not everyday eyeglasses

I'm considering getting Transitions XTRActive lenses and would love to hear from people who have actually used them.

I'm very short-sighted and basically can't function without glasses. Contacts aren't an option for me.

I'm going on vacation this summer and will be spending 8–10 hours a day outdoors, so I definitely need sunglasses. The problem is that I hate wearing sunglasses indoors. Every time I go into a café, restaurant, museum, shop, etc., I have to switch back to my regular glasses, which gets really annoying when you're doing it all day.

I already have a regular pair of prescription glasses for everyday use, so I'm not looking to replace those. This would be a second pair specifically for vacations and days when I'm outdoors for long periods and want to leave the house with just one pair.

My biggest concern is whether XTRActive lenses actually get dark enough to function as proper sunglasses. Most of the reviews I've found seem to be from people using them as everyday glasses rather than as a substitute for prescription sunglasses.

Do they genuinely look like sunglasses outdoors, especially in photos? Or do they still look more like darkened prescription glasses?

For anyone who's used them for holidays, sightseeing, theme parks, beach towns, or similar, were you happy with them, or did you still end up wanting a dedicated pair of sunglasses?

I'd love to hear some real-world experiences.
