Why are vegan seemingly obsessed with making things taste like meat?
I'm sorry if this post comes off as offensive or something, truly not my intention. I'm not vegan or vegetarian but I've never really liked meat either, I even had problems with iron deficiency in the past because of that, So I recently decided to eat mostly vegan food, specifically for breakfast cause I love tofu beans and vegetables, it's been a great experience and I can only thank all the vegans who have taken time to come up with tasty and healthy meals.
But I have one major complain, it was so hard to find good recipes that weren't straight up trying to imitate the flavor or texture of meat and eggs which kinda defeated the whole purpose for me. I understand that you may crave those foods you no longer eat if you choose to go vegan for moral reasons or something, but I just think it would be better to focus on food that works for vegan ingredients as opposed to trying to recreate a hamburger with plants. Again, I know it's easy for me to say cause I'll still just eat a hamburger if I want one, but it was just a mild annoyance I found myself facing in what's been otherwise a rather pleasant experience.
