Am I losing out on additional MQD?

Gold Status, booked a cash Economy ticket via Delta on partner KLM (to/from AMS), SkyMiles linked. Upgraded to Business last-minute through the KLM app, paid separately in cash.

Does that separate KLM upgrade earn extra MQD toward status, or do MQDs only count the original Economy fare?
