Need help with cat safe synth setup table

I recently moved out from my parents who didn't allow my Make Noise 0-coast out on table as the cables looked messy to them. Since I wasn't planning to reset my patch every time I just placed it in my drawer until I moved out.

Well, I just moved out, but now living with my girlfriend who brought 3 cats. They are all adorable and I spoil them a lot. That being said, the youngest one is a f*cking menace. He will chew, dig, yank everything apart when given his opportunity. That includes anything plastic, cables, papers and boxes. I tried to keep my door closed most of time, but that closes off the ac vent/ return grille which makes the 2nd floor unbearably hot in summer.

I was looking at the antique shop one day to find a roll top desk. It'll serve my purpose nicely, but with one caveat of not fitting with the current room's theme. I tried to find some modern version of it but no one makes them.

Can anyone give me some ideas for case like this? Do you have a young curious cat that goes through everything? How do you deal with it?
