The Knicks/Spurs YMCA Analogy is Bunk

So Bill reached into his mailbag on last night’s pod and pulled an email that compared the Knicks success
over the Spurs so far to a YMCA game where a more mature, connected team beats a younger, more talented one. What this shows me is that Bill and the media groupthink are still committed to doing this thing where the premise that SA is more talented than NY is conceded without argument. But is it actually true? Was KAT not the 1st overall pick? Does he not have numerous all-NBA and All-Star selections even prior to his recent ascension? Which of the Spurs guards are better than Brunson? Which of the Spurs wings are better than OG and Mikal? Who are the Spurs bringing off the bench more impactful than Mitch Robinson or Landry Shamet? I think rather than these weird pick-up analogies and it’s time to just apply Occam’s razor and admit the Knicks are doing well because they have good basketball players.
