The Slum Dog: 33 Temple Road teaser just dropped, and immediately the buzz around Vijay Sethupathi amplified. He's one of the most interesting actors working today – a chameleon who can disappear into a 'Kaattaan' or be the heart of a 'Thalaivan Thalaivii' while also commanding the screen in 'Farzi' and gearing up for 'Jailer 2'. But lately, his public image has been as turbulent as his filmography is diverse. There are the recent allegations of sexual misconduct, which he has vehemently denied and pursued legally, suggesting a concerted effort to damage his reputation. Then there's the recurring, though less active, debate around his stance on Hindi imposition, where he's consistently clarified his position on not opposing the language itself but its forceful imposition. Now, with the Puri Jagannadh project, the discussion shifts back to craft: can his understated power really thrive under Puri's notoriously loud, 'mass' elevation style? Or will the director’s template overshadow the very subtlety that makes Sethupathi so compelling to watch in films like Mani Ratnam’s upcoming project or even 'Gandhi Talks'? It's a fascinating tightrope walk, balancing artistic choices, commercial demands, and navigating intense public scrutiny, as often discussed on podiem.
