Black panel in Able Carry Max EDC

I just got my Max EDC backpack today and I noticed that its pretty rigid. When I look in the back, I believe its the laptop compartment, I see a black foam in there. Do I leave it in there or do I take it out? I’m guessing its in there for shipping?
