6 months together and no “I love you” should I be worried?
Hi guys, so me (22F) and my boyfriend (22M) have been official for 2 months, but we’ve been dating/talking for about 6 months now.
I already knew I loved him around 3 weeks in, so I’ve been holding back from saying it for a while. Lately, it’s been weighing on me. Part of me worries that maybe he just doesn’t love me, which is why he hasn’t said it yet. Or maybe he’s trying to get there and I’m just overthinking everything. Either way, it’s been upsetting me a bit.
And before anyone says I should just say it first, we actually had a conversation about that once. I sent him a song that had “I love you” in the lyrics, but I didn’t even realize it at the time I just liked the song. He thought I was trying to confess my feelings, and he told me that he would’ve wanted to be the one to say “I love you” first, but that he wasn’t ready yet. This was a few months into us dating, by the way.
I told him, “Oh no, I would never confess that way,” because honestly I wouldn’t. I also told him I wasn’t ready yet either, which was true at the time.
Now it’s been months, and I’m starting to wonder if I’m reading too much into the fact that he still hasn’t said it.
