Commercial & Advertising button-pusher looking for first Leica.
As the title states, I run media production located in the Midwest. I shoot globally in and around extreme temps… I collaborate with companies from all walks: nutrition, sports, sporting (hunt/fish/firearms) key art, and studio from time-to-time. 98% of my jobs are on location. I currently run the Z9/Z8’s bodies and love the reliability. That said, I’m looking for another body that can accommodate a few scenarios: 1) a smaller backup that is 2) fun to shoot, 3) reliable and 4) could shoot an entire campaign if my camera cases gets stolen.
I’ve kinda boiled it down to a 60mp sensors … torn between Q3 43 or a M11. I don’t believe a manual focus would bother me. I adapt Zeiss ZF glass to the Z system for special projects and looks - it’s just a slower process but used to manual focusing.
I used to run the GFX 100 but ran into sooo many damn issues on set in front of clients (Lock ups, tether not connecting, batteries, 40% hit rates, etc) Not a Fuji bash, just mentioning this as I’m looking for a reliable system that can produce beautiful files, accommodate my style, and meet client deliverables.
Never shoot Leica. Always heard good things. Love the files. Long time lurker and open to thoughts!
