40, autistic, and still don’t know how to survive on my own… and no one gives real answers

I honestly can’t stand when people say just breathe and let it go. That doesn’t solve anything.

Lately I’ve been asking my parents what happens when they’re gone. Their answer is always the same You’re capable, you’ll figure it out.

But in my head I’m thinking how can you say that after protecting and providing for me for 40 years?

So here I am, stuck in my own thoughts, realizing I have no clue what I’m actually supposed to do with my life or how to survive on my own.

The part that really messes with me is this when I hit rock bottom and made a suicide attempt, suddenly everyone jumped in we’ll help you, we’ll fix this. I went through treatment, evaluations, all of it.

And now? I’m right back where I started. No real guidance. No concrete steps. Just people acting like experts without actually showing me how to live independently.

It’s driving me insane.

What am I actually supposed to do? How do you learn to survive when no one ever really taught you?

Because right now, it feels like I’m being thrown into the deep end with no idea how to swim.
