I'm back. Here is the finished look. It's not a cosplay mind it but a very much inspired outfit.

About the hat and the bolero (spiked shoulders piece). So they are made out of very dense and sturdy velvet. When I shopped for fabrics I literally held my favorite d book cover and choose the closest to the vision (mysterious journey to the north sea pt1 if anyone wants to know). They are both hand sewn, the bolero took me more than 80 hours to make with each piece is beaded and threaded by hand.

Now THE HAT (which was the star of the night) I made the day before prom I've never made a hat before mind it but I was losing my mind and I was determined to include it in the whole outfit. I used an old (it wasn't old I stole it from my dad) cowboy hat and as u can see in my previous post tweaked it till I got the prettiest d hat. I aimed more for amano d not anime d too, I love the vibe he is able to gather I knew my hat had to be like that.

And a little about the dress. It's heavy satin. I saw it and I thought "Omg liquid metal and it's black and flowy like shadow" do I even need to elaborate further? The photos don't do the fabric justice I should make a photoshoot of my own some day (the theme was pearly white btw.)

This is the biggest sewing project I've done so far and it really tested my limits. But after many days, many NIGHTS, cups of coffee and skipped meals I think I got very close to my initial vision.

PS: by the way the normies at prom didn't recognize D but that didn't stop me from going around the whole night and spreading D propaganda when people asked me about my outfit (they asked a lot lol). I also made a small shoulder piece for my lover to match my bolero which is very similar to the one on that one book cover I told u ab :>

Anyway I love vampire hunter d and i love making stuff and what's better than making stuff for my favorite ever franchise.

As proof the last photo is me convincing this nice girl to watch bloodlust :'>
