The virtues of Tawḥīd.
Shaykh ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Nāṣir al-Saʿdī said:
Among its virtues is that it makes it easy for the servant to do good and to abandon evil deeds, and it brings him comfort during calamities. For the one who is sincere to Allah in his īmān and tawḥīd, acts of obedience become light upon him because of what he hopes for of his Lord’s reward and pleasure.
And abandoning sins that the soul desires becomes easy for him because of what he fears of Allah’s anger and punishment.
And among its greatest virtues is that it frees the servant from the slavery of created beings, from attachment to them, from fearing them, hoping in them, and acting for their sake. This is true honor and the highest form of dignity.
Along with that, he becomes devoted and worshipful to Allah alone, hoping in none besides Him, fearing none except Him, and turning in repentance to none but Him. Through this, his success is completed and his ultimate triumph is realized.
