What age first haircut & why?

Daughter has always had long and thick hair. It gets in her face a lot but for the most part she’ll let me put a pony tail, pigtails etc

I love her thick hair and curls , but now that it’s almost half down her back at 2, was just wondering what age did you take yours for first haircuts and what was the reason? Uneven, too long, wanted bangs?
