Homewrx just a little scam or big

So a rep from homewrx reached out on here to offer me a chance at starting my own branch which was great. I stated a few hard lines in the sand ie starting salary and FI well they stated that’s fine we understand. Get down to numbers every bit was disregarded completely. I was basically asked to start a branch with no upfront help and be grateful for the chance. Well I explained that if that was the case I might as well cut out the middle man. Went on to explain ( not my best idea but funny ) they are the equivalent of dating a stripper pretty to look at but zero commitment on their end.
