AIO mom said she should've left me in hospital
TW for moderate-severe mental health disorders
For some background, I deal with mental health disorders that cannot be glamorized. Intrusive thoughts about harming others, narcissism, lack of empathy, etc. I make an active effort to not harm other people without a damn good reason and I consider harming others to be antiethical to who I am. I have been sent to hospital for these issues (self harm, especially) twice before and the most recent time I was almost placed in a ward.
Today I was having my mother take me to my orientation for my first job, and as we're driving she starts getting upset because I didn't understand why piercings are considered so unprofessional. She begins that she should've just never had me if I hate the world so much. I say to her, as I have many times before, that I think we should just kill everyone forever, except for me so that I can do unethical experiments for my fun. Take note again that I very staunchly refuse to engage in any behave that goes against my moral code. I will not actually do unethical experiments on people and I intend to go into the medical field so I can have an outlet for my medical interest that benefits others.
She states that no normal person would think these thoughts, and she should've left me in the hospital the last time. I am a firm believer in there being no such thing as thought crimes, and I make an active effort in my life to not hurt others. She knows this, and knows that I have a genuine interest in the medical field that I intend to pursue. Am I overreacting?
