prep question-adult prep
hi everyone!
i've been diagnosed with UC for over five years, however i was diagnosed as a minor and did all my stuff in the children's hospital until recently(19-20) and have only done the kid prep. now i'm getting my 5th colonoscopy but it's the adult version and i'm a bit confused and would love to hear some personal experiences
i'm doing the GaviLyte prep(😒) and got my instructions. i've only the miralax which is basically one bottle/capful every hour from 6am to like 10pm and it's worked fine.
with the gavilyte jug, my prep instructions say to start day before at 4pm, finish 3/4th by 6 pm and then finish the rest the next day(procedure day) up to two hours before my appointment, 8 am so start at 4am and finish 6am. the only time i've had to do prep the next day was when i had a 2pm appointment💀
and i honestly don't know if i'll be able to do that. i'm not good at ingesting large amounts of liquid in general, especially not the prep
i was thinking of starting the prep early, like 6am and finishing it the same day. like i said, this will be my 5th scope so i know what everything is supposed to look like. thoughts? experiences? i'm pretty confused and kinda grossed out lol
also, for adults, are you awake for these scopes? i've always been under anesthesia but again, kid hospital so. they didn't specify how it would happen lol
