My devilcorp experience

Experience

THIS IS AN EDITED VERSION OF MESSAGE I SENT TO SOMEBODY

I’ll give you an over view of my experience. The first thing they do is make you come in and sign a contract, you don’t actually work them you’re self employed so you have to figure your own taxes and the like. Being self employed also means that you don’t have any real workers rights and they can just let you go for anything. Once you’ve signed everything they send you a load of “online training” which is actually just videos that mostly repeat the same thing and your have to record a video of yourself reciting the pitch that you give to people at their doors (hated it). On my first day I got to the office only to find out that MMT enterprises is just another company called focus Nottingham with a different name ( focus is ran by a guy called fionntan Larkin who has been posted about in r/devilcorp before). My first day included training which was nothing more than reciting the pitch over and over. After about an hour of that fionntan (focus dude) walked in and gave basically a 45 minute nothing burger of a speech which managed to be ableist homophobic and misogynistic all in one go, I am fully convinced that these are for nothing besides boosting his own ego. After that me and the other new starter were lead out of the office into guys car and driven to Leicester (a place I had never been before and was not told we were going to before hand) where we proceeded to knock on peoples doors for the next 8 or so hours until about half 7 (I started at 9:30). Also the due who was ‘training me’ broke protocol multiple times. Day two was effectively the same up until about 6 when I found I had lost my ride back to the office cause he quit. Again at about 7:30 (still after getting to the office at 9:30) I was told that the day was over so I went to figure out my way home eventually I got on a bus and was called about 20 minutes later by my manager called to ask how I felt my first two days had gone which after about 30 seconds of small talk lead to him saying I had been terminated because my lack conviction in my pitch, my low sales and the fact “I didn’t seem to have management potential”.
