Wanting to expand my horizons with a new smallish (1000 pt) Army....

With 11th coming out how will I get up to date pt values for the different armies to build my endless lists till I decide on one?

Also is 1000 pts too much to do at once, should I go with 500 pts x2?

Also if anyone wants to make a recommendation on either Tyranids, Tau, Aeldari, or Necrons and why they are the proper choice that'd be wonderful also (My friend and I are total nubs to the game so beginner friendly (if that even matters)
