Just switched from Apple. Anything I should know?

I switched to a Pixel 10 after a lifetime with Apple since the iPhone 4. Does anyone have advice for how I should "use" my phone per se? Like any changes to privacy and permissions I should beware of, or any apps that work better than the stock ones? I'm the only one in my immediate circle with android so I don't really have anyone to ask.

Also, to my knowledge android phones don't have wifi messaging built into their messaging apps like iMessage does. What's the workaround for this, or do most Android users just use WhatsApp?
