Tissot PR100 reliable for daily wear?

Looking for a watch I can take most places, dress up a bit, but mainly just that tells the time. My concern is that I've heard some mixed stories online regarding the longevity of this watch- I would prefer quartz for daily timekeeping, would prefer a swiss made watch, but the options under 400 do not really fall off of trees. Do those familiar with the PR100 have any experiences to share either way?
