What if Amaris gave a different order?

Lore

When Stefan Amaris killed Richard and took over the Terran Hegemony, he famously ordered General Kerensky to finish off the Periphery States, which turned his former allies against him, but was completely ignored by Kerensky.

However, imagine that taking the throne did not bestow an immediate intelligence debuff onto Amaris. Imagine that instead, while condemning all the stupid and harmful things Richard did, Amaris also condemned the way Cameron and Kerensky handled the Periphery, levying unreasonable taxes to push the territories to rebellion which would then be massacred to satisfy Kerensky's lust for a proper war. Imagine that he called for the SLDF to pull back into the Member States, protecting them from any retaliation as they should have been doing this whole time, or just to stay where they are and not advance any further. Imagine that Amaris announced his willingness to start peace talks with the Periphery that would secure the interests of the Inner Sphere while giving Periphery more autonomy, and called Kerensky to Terra for him to undergo an investigation to establish how much of the bloodshed was Kerensky's responsibility.

Do you think that'd change anything about the Amaris Coup?
