I’ve read 44 chapters so far
One word.
Wow.
I know I’m not even half way through the entire series but wow.
If Bloom Into You is the perfect manga for teens that are going to puberty, figuring out their sexuality and feelings, then How Do We Relationship is the perfect manga for young adults figuring out relationship problems.
This is by far, the most accurate and realistic romance / relationship-focused manga I’ve read. I can relate to every character, that’s how god damn realistic it is.
Like you see the characters date around, but it’s not angst, it’s just actual relationship problems you see in real life (cough cough my own too). There’s no “you’re THE one in my dreams”, there’s only “oh we match really well together”. I love how Shiho is written. >!She likes Miwa a lot, but she prioritises other issues.!< I also really like how they portray how Miwa and Saeko first started their relationship. It wasn’t some “omg love at first sight”, it was just hey we’re both lesbians why don’t we try it out. >!Miwa liked Saeko a lot, and probably more than other ppl, but she didn’t even cry when they broke up, she felt guilty. But when it came to confessing to Shiho, Miwa actually shut herself up. The distinction between someone that you like a lot, and someone that you’re in love with was portrayed perfectly.!<
I can’t talk about every single character but EVERY CHARACTER manages to reflect actual relationship problems. Hook-ups, situationships, cheating, mentally cheating, possessiveness.
Actually such a goated piece.
