11XX Commonwealth Ave apartments

Hi, I'm an incoming PhD student and have been looking at 2b/1b apartments for my roommate and I. We saw a couple apartments on Commonwealth avenue, specifically in 1131-37, 1157-61 and 1185-97 Commonwealth Ave. I saw some bad reviews about 85-97 but nothing much on the others. How is it living there? I'm seeing some stuff about mice (but that might just be an allston thing) and bad management. Would love some opinions and maybe some ideas on some alternatives to these apartments.

They're in a really convenient location which is why we're strongly leaning towards them (hoping that its not too bad).
