Back to ER

Day 7 post tonsillectomy and I had some bleeding today. Thank goodness for this reddit community and so many people sharing their experiences because I manged to not freak out!

Swished with some cold water repeatedly and even with some salt water. I did panic a little when it didn't completely stop it, but called the nurse line and was recommended to go to ER just in case.

I had already been to the emergency room earlier in my recovery because I was dehydrated, but managed to get the same doctor, who was lovely. Talked to the surgeon, too, thankfully bleeding had stopped by the time he saw me, said no need to do surgery but we'll keep an eye on it.

The medical staff does not joke around when it comes to post tonsillectomy bleeds! I was taken back in minutes and did get some more fluids since it's still hard to swallow and drink, but I haven't had any bleeding restart since, so far.

This certainly hasn't been the easiest recovery process, and I know there's still a ways to go, but I have no regrets at all doing the surgery. I didn't realize my breathing had been affected so much by my tonsils until now when I can suddenly breathe so much deeper and clearer than before.
