Advice for my dad's retirement gift?

My dad's retiring soon and I wanted to celebrate by getting him a nice bottle of whiskey and hopefully some sort of accessory to make his nightly Old Fashioned more enjoyable.

I checked the pinned gift guide and it's got me leaning towards a bottle of Eagle Rare, since he's pretty partial to Buffalo Trace. I've seen the name around here a few times while looking for recommendations so I'm feeling pretty good about it but by all means, please do weigh in if you're a knower. He's also a big fan of 1792, I think he drinks it more just because it's easier to find, not sure if there's any sort of premium bottle similar to that, it wasn't on the guide.

As for the accessory, I'm hoping to find something to help him make his drinks smokier. Last Christmas my mom got him one of those smoking kits with a bunch of different wood chips, an infuser topper thing, and what seems to me like a kinda shitty torch. He says his drinks taste at least "kinda smokey" but from what I've seen, barely any smoke gets in the glass, and what little does mostly leaves as soon as he uncovers it. So I'm really hoping to find something to upgrade this smoking set up.

He's already got pretty much everything else from the gift guide as far as I could tell. Spherical ice molds, a bunch of drink mixing/measuring tools, a bunch of nice glasses. So I'd really appreciate any help I could get finding the right tool or tools to complete his kit.
