Ethernet stopped working after I reseated GPU. PCIe is not working properly either.
Hello. I recently repasted my GPU (RX 7700XT).
I noticed a few days later in GPU-Z and HWmonitor that the GPU is now running at PCIe Gen 4 x2 instead of x16 like it was. I went into bios and there was no setting to manually set it to x16. I tried clearing the cmos and updating the bios to no avail. I tried reseating it again and it did not fix the issue.
Here's the interesting part. There is absolutely no performance difference that I am seeing. I am getting exactly the same FPS in games and in 3Dmark timespy. How is that possible?
Once I reseated it a second time, a new issue has formed. Now my Realtek 2.5gbe ethernet adapter no longer works. It isn't detected in bios (it was literally right before I reseated it), the light isn't blinking, it isn't detected in windows, and I cannot reinstall the drivers (says device not found).
5 years ago, I had a GPU explode in this computer. It wasn't caused by the motherboard or psu, it was just a mosfet inside the gpu that went bang. But it's worth noting I suppose.
Anyone know wtf is going on? It's possible the PCIe port got damaged when reseating the card, but how would that affect the ethernet adapter that is connected to the chipset? It makes no sense.
My motherboard is a Gigabyte Aorus Elite Z590, CPU is i5 11400, and 32gb DDR4 3200mhz. Had the mobo/cpu/ram for 6 years. GPU for 2 years.
