First Suit Buying Advice

Hi there!

So I need to buy my first two suits for two different occasions. I had some initial ideas but am unsure so wanted to get some more advice.

The first occasion is a more summery party on a boat. This suit I would want as a brighter, summery and relaxed colour for those sorts of occasions in general in the future. I was thinking a light grey for the suit but then I was unsure about what to pair it with.

I had initially thought a slightly darker green (green is my fav colour and I think it works well with my skin so I want to incorporate it but don't want to go all in on a green suit) maybe a forest green and a slightly lighter green tie (I got no clue for the tie) but then I found that apparently lighter, pastel shirts are better with light grey so maybe a pastel/light green instead with a complementary tie (again unsure on colour).

I prefer the idea of the darker green as I'm not a fan of the lighter, pastel colours but am unsure. Let me know what you think.

The second occasion is a friend's party with a "Black Tie Event" theme which I would then want to continue to use for more formal occasions like job interviews and funerals etc.

I thought of black first but it's not as versatile as a charcoal/dark grey) would that still work for a black tie event enough?). It would be black/charcoal with white shirt and black tie obviously but am unsure of which one I should go for.

So yeah;

- light grey suit + darker green or pastel green shirt for summery and less formal occasions

- classic black or charcoal/dark grey suit for more formal occasions and black tie events

Any help would be amazing cos I got no clue on style lol, thank you!
