TriMix vial he is giving me is only good for 14 days if kept in the refrigerator?

Does this make sense to anyone?
My pharmacist told me that the TriMix vial he is giving me is only good for 14 days if kept in the refrigerator, and that after 14 days I should throw away any remaining medication.
Has anyone else been told this? Most of what I've read suggests TriMix can last much longer when refrigerated. I'm curious about other people's experiences and what their pharmacists or doctors have advised.
