Moving On From My Awful Past

Vent

Not going to sugarcoat it, I used to be an absolute dickhead. Nothing illegal, but a bad pattern of mistreting women, leading them on, being a massive flirt, talking shit, was known as a fuck boy essentially.

It was a fairly short period on my life, worked at a bar for a couple years in my early twenties when it all happened. Despite my reputation and admittedly shitty behaviour I was still well liked by mutuals that knew about how I was acting but were willing to look past it.

I felt terrible about the way I had behaved, I always apologised to those people I hurt, over time I corrected my behaviour, moved to a different job, then another, and havent been doing so much better, no instances, just been a much better person and im proud of myself.

But over time ive become hated by most of those former coworkers, I bumped into who was my best friend at that job just the other night and she wanted nothing to do with me, valid, I think its fair that they dont like me no matter how much time has past.

I guess im just wondering how you move on from it all, ive spent the past 3 years surrounding myself with people who have only ever known the best me, I have friends who dont think that low of me, it shouldnt weigh me down so much but it does.

Im pretty sure ive learnt what I needed tp learn, im a better man now, how do you reconcile a shitty past?
