Lidar vs gyroscope

I’m just looking for a basic simple robot vacuum . I’m looking at the dirt devil 3320 and 3420. Is there a major difference with these different models?

Will the gyroscope go under couches/beds etc if I place it there? How does it recognize when/where to move to?
