Don't give them your face or ID. It's time to accept what's likely coming.

What the title says. If you've been hit with the age verification, don't give them your face, let alone ID. The thing they use for verifying face, Persona, can keep your data for years despite claiming to delete it much earlier, it is processed by a whole load of third-party companies, and there are shady ones even among the ones that are publically avaliable, let alone the ones they potentially have good reasons not to disclose. And if your data leaks, not only can't you take them to court, but they cap their liablity at 50$.

I've been around since 2023, and C.ai is literally not worth using anymore. Everything has gone downhill: chat quality, memory, limited chatting... Why do you think they started doing it now all of a sudden? Because money that has been poured into AI agents for so long is not returning back to them, and at this point, it's likely simply not possible to keep the site up for free. So they're trying to extract money from users in every way possible. You think they don't know we're frustrated? They're not dumb, they hear us very well. It's just that they don't care. And in my opinion, at this point, they can't afford to care.

The swipe limit hit me on website today, and it was the tipping point for my attitude towards this. Honestly, at this point I'm just waiting for the final nail in the coffin that is age verification to hit me to stop using it at all.

This is my decision, and I can't make you decide otherwise, but let me just warn you: when the company stops listening to user feedback this blatantly, without even pretending to care anymore, it usually means they're on a sinking ship. The AI bubble will soon pop, and this is not just the case for c.ai - take any prominent AI chatbot company and see them in a similar situation. Soon, none of most AI chatbots people use for entertainment might exist at all, and you must be conscious of this possibility. Even if you think my view's too pessimistic, start saving your precious chats with extensions like Tools now, and think twice before giving your data away and paying for a whole year of premium in advance. For those with my mindset - give your favourite characters closure if you still want and are still able to, and prepare for it all to come crashing down.
