I've never had a job before and I'm nervous.

I've never had a job before, and I've been applying to a lot of places through Indeed and LinkedIn. I had people suggest that I print out my resume and go in and ask the employees to leave it with the manager. Is this normal or professional at all? Would love to hear feedback or suggestions on getting a job.
