Advice for Recording and Editing a Hypnosis File
Hey y'all. Since the middle of April I've been slaving over this file I've been making with a creative partner. It took a very long time to actually write the script (finished it in late May) but I got it done and it's something I'm *so* proud of. I mean, it's something I just *know* is going to do well. I've spent the last little bit tinkering with the actual recording and editing of it, and honestly it's been making me want to put my head through the wall.
I've got a lot of experience doing irl and online hypnosis, so the actual equipment (like microphone, pop filters) and the performance (OoOoO hypnosis voice), those are all fine and dandy. It's this process of editing, and recording that I just feel so lost in. It makes me feel crazy and like I'm doing something wrong. To be fair, I don't have any experience in acting, or audio editing, even if they are things I really want to learn more about.
After overdoing it with just a single paragraph in my script today, trying it again and again, I've decided to reach out to here to see what other people's processes are like when it comes to editing and recording these files.
So, how do you go about this? If this is something you do/make. Do you record the whole script in one go cutting out unnecessary? Do you go bit by bit and then channel your inner Frankenstein and stitch it all into one thing? How do you not drive yourself insane with perfectionism? Unless thats just a me thing haha.
I admit I've put more on my plate than I can reasonably handle with this, especially since this is the first time I've made something like this. An hour and a half script (timing from table reads I've done with others/test recordings) for your first file is pretty intense. But I'm determined to see it through and do what I can to improve my skills.
