What's the professional way to handle someone you resent?

Ask India

I got close to a guy at work. We became really good friends and could talk for hours about absolutely anything.

Eventually we both admitted there were feelings involved.

He stood me up.

Later he apologized, we talked again, and decided to give it another shot.

He stood me up a second time.

Now we don't speak. We have the same friend circle, see each other every day, and somehow he's telling people that he rejected me and I ended the friendship.

The irony is that after both incidents, I was always the one trying to fix things. He never once reached out first.

I don't even like him anymore. I'm just tired.

Tired of the awkwardness, the gossip, the weird tension, and having to see someone every day who couldn't even give me the basic courtesy of showing up.

Please help, how to tackle this situation? 🙄

How do you stop someone from living rent-free in your head when you see them every day?
