Clarification regarding RPM Fusion and Discrete + Integrated GPUs

Hi all, I went through the whole RPM Fusion process and installed everything I needed to from the docs, as well as installing propriety NVIDIA Drivers. After running the cmd nvidia-smi, I found out there isn't any running processes on the GPU, and everything is currently being ran on my integrated Intel GPU. Hoping to get the right answer here, but if I were to for example run a game on steam that's intensive, because I downloaded everything related to RPM Fusion, will my laptop automatically switch to running the game (or intensive processes) to the Now-Discrete NVIDIA GPU? Or, instead would I need to download NVIDIA Optimus, and manually switch which GPU the laptop uses by default?
