Should I give my ex a chance again?
Hello! I need a little advice. I (22f) and my ex (26m) recently broke up. We were only together for a few months, but it was my first relationship ever. I hadn't even been on a date before I met him. I feel strongly for him, and I'm certain that he does as well (or at least as certain as I can be without reading his mind).
We broke up extremely suddenly after he came forward about still technically being married to his ex. I have to clarify that I know they are not romantically involved with each other. They haven't been together for over a year and have been getting a divorce. They are no longer with each other and live separately. I was extremely upset that he didn't tell me until a few months in, so I broke up with him. Again, to clarify, I had no clue of this! I was absolutely flabbergasted and fled the scene.
He recently contacted me asking if he could have another chance, and told me he apologized for what happened. He clarified that they were only married because of healthcare (?) and that he "minimized how much that information actually mattered". I told him I wasn't interested, but I do miss him a little. It felt like a heartfelt apology, and he seems pretty torn up about hurting my feelings, considering it was my first relationship ever.
My dilemma is considering whether or not to give him a trial run after an extremely in-depth discussion. If not, whatevs, #WomenInMaleDominatedFields. Should I go live my life, or give him another chance?
